A tiki is, by definition, a likeness of a Polynesian god, usually carved in wood or stone. Polynesia represented mystery and exuded exotic allure to mainstream America in the mid-20th century. The country was recovering from war and looking for a bright and happy escape. With dressed up food presentation, fancy drinks, and even more fanciful decor, this is where tiki bars found their niche -- offering a happy escape to a beautiful island.

Dogbert is Dilbert's dog from the Dilbert comic strip. He is a megalomaniac; one of his dreams is to conquer the world and enslave all humans, and he has achieved this status several times through methods such as hypnosis and masquerading. However, he often quickly relinquishes his post due to boredom, someone foiling his chance, his conviction that people do not deserve to have him as leader due to the ongoing peace that results, or his desire to go nap on a soft pillow.

Grace Kelly. Even just her name is elegant. And, that is not even taking into account her work or her life. Her success in films meant a lot to her, and she walked away from that for love and marriage...and to be a princess. Her life has always fascinated me. I first became aware of Cheech Marin as part of the off beat comedy duo of Cheech & Chong. I admit, I really didn't pay that much attention to them, but I was aware of them. Flash forward now and Cheech Marin is definitely back on my radar, and now I'm paying attention. He's honed his comedy skills, and - what's that? - yes, he can act.   • Right here is where I Squidoo!!! - To lensmasters everywhere, come one come all: Just come to this lens and see the great people that work very hard to give you one of the best Web 2.0 experiences anywhere on the web! I am talking, of course, about the Squidoo staff and their executive headquarters. This lens is a rich pictorial of the individuals behind the scenes that are responsible for Squidoo, and the incredibly valuable resource Squidoo represents. I have seen pictures of various individuals here and there, but have not had the pleasure of viewing this talented staff together. It is nice to have a visual that brings my daily association with Squidoo to a personal level with the individuals who work so hard for all of us. Jason has done a wonderful job putting this lens together, and I appreciate this lens and the new connection it has provided for me.
